Cursive & fancy text generator

Type your text in the box and it appears in 21 styles at once: cursive, bold, Old English, bubble, upside down, Minecraft enchanting table and more. Tap any style to copy it, then paste it into a bio, username, caption, chat or game sign. These are Unicode characters, not images, so they paste as normal text.

Worked example: โ€œHelloโ€ in cursive

Every letter is swapped for a different character that looks like a script letter. The code point is the character's number in Unicode; the letters marked "older block" come from Letterlike Symbols because the newer maths alphabet left a gap for them.

LetterCursiveCode pointsComes from
Hโ„‹U+0048 โ†’ U+210BLetterlike Symbols (older block)

l๐“U+006C โ†’ U+1D4C1Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols
oโ„ดU+006F โ†’ U+2134Letterlike Symbols (older block)

Put together, Hello becomes โ„‹โ„ฏ๐“๐“โ„ด. The same word in bold is ๐‡๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ๐จ, and in the enchanting table alphabet it is โ‘แ’ท๊–Ž๊–Ž๐™น.

How cursive and fancy text works

Unicode, the standard every phone and computer uses for text, includes several complete alphabets that were added for maths and science: script (the "cursive" look), bold, italic, double-struck, Fraktur (Old English), sans-serif and monospace. They sit in the Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block, added in Unicode 3.1. This generator swaps each normal letter for its look-alike in the alphabet you pick. A few letters, like script โ„‹ and โ„ฏ, already existed in the older Letterlike Symbols block, so the maths block leaves a gap there; the generator fills those gaps so no letter is missing.

Other styles borrow from different parts of Unicode: small caps and tiny text use letters from phonetic alphabets, bubble and squares use enclosed letters, wide text uses the full-width forms made for typing alongside Chinese, Japanese and Korean, and strikethrough and underline add a combining line mark after each character. Upside-down text uses look-alike letters and then reverses the order, so it reads correctly when the screen is turned over.

What gets converted

Only the plain letters A to Z are swapped. The bold serif, bold sans, monospace, double-struck, bubble and wide styles also convert the digits 0 to 9; the others leave digits as they are. Spaces, punctuation, emoji and accented letters pass through unchanged in most styles, because the maths alphabets have no accented forms. Small caps, tiny and upside-down styles have no capital letters, so capitals come out the same as lower case. Tiny text has no superscript Q, so Q stays plain.

Things to know before you paste

Because the result is real text, it copies anywhere text goes. But it is not the same text: search engines, site search and hashtags may not match it to the plain word, and screen readers can spell each character out by its Unicode name or skip it. Use fancy text for a name or a short heading, not whole paragraphs, and keep important information in plain text. Some older phones and fonts show empty boxes for characters they lack; if that happens, pick a different style.

Minecraft font and enchanting table text

The runes on the Minecraft enchanting table are the Standard Galactic Alphabet, a cipher alphabet with one symbol per English letter. The "Minecraft enchanting table" style above writes your text in those symbols, so hello becomes โ‘แ’ท๊–Ž๊–Ž๐™น. Paste it into chat, books, signs or server messages. Unicode has no official Galactic letters, so the symbols are the look-alikes players commonly use, and a few letters take two characters. The blocky Minecraft title lettering is an image font, not text, so it cannot be copied as characters; for usernames and chat, the bold or monospace styles are the closest text look.

Where fancy fonts work

Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, YouTube comments, Discord, WhatsApp and most games accept these characters in posts, bios and chat. Usernames are stricter: many sites allow only plain letters and numbers there. A few styles (squares, upside down) look different on each phone, and the line marks in strikethrough and underline sit slightly differently from app to app.

Frequently asked questions

How do I put cursive text in my Instagram or TikTok bio?

Type your text above, tap the Cursive script or Bold cursive style to copy it, then open your profile editor and paste. The characters are text, so no app or keyboard is needed.

Why do some fancy letters show as boxes?

The device or app reading it has no font with that character. Older phones and some games miss the maths alphabets. Try a different style, such as small caps or bubble, which use older characters.

Is fancy text bad for accessibility?

It can be. Screen readers may spell out each character by its Unicode name or skip it, and search will not find the plain word. Use it for decoration and keep key information in normal text.

Can I use fancy fonts in a username?

Sometimes. Display names and bios usually accept them, but many sites only allow plain letters, digits and a few symbols in the username itself.

What is the Minecraft enchanting table language?

The Standard Galactic Alphabet: one symbol for each English letter, so it is a cipher, not a separate language. Pick the "Minecraft enchanting table" style to write in it, for example hello โ†’ โ‘แ’ท๊–Ž๊–Ž๐™น.
